Unirac updates roof screw design for faster installs and stronger performance

<p>Unirac sent notice that it has <a href="https://files.constantcontact.com/737eaa46801/11f7eeea-9d50-4923-8a07-2717cd6ee1d0.pdf?rdr=true&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=ctct">upgraded one of its most common roof attachment fasteners</a>, improving strength, ease of use, and compatibility across its product lines. </p>

<p>The new 003251W – DTD #14 x 3&#8243; self-drill screw replaces the previous 003250W – #12-14 x 2.50 screw, offering a more aggressive thread for a stronger hold and better spans, along with a sharper point for easier starts when piercing shingles.</p>

<p>The new screw also features a 3/8-inch bolt head — consistent with Unirac’s BUTYL attachments and Solobox systems — simplifying tooling for installers working across product types. It remains fully backward compatible, so existing designs don’t need to change.</p>

<p>&#8220;The updated screw provides a superior installation experience with reduced risk of stripping and improved structural performance. It features a sharper point for easier piercing of composition shingles and a more aggressive thread geometry for stronger holding power. The 3/8&#8243; bolt head aligns with other Unirac products, including BUTYL attachments and SOLOBOX<img alt="™" class="wp-smiley" src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/16.0.1/72x72/2122.png" style="height: 1em;" />, ensuring consistent tooling across systems. The new 003251W screw is fully backward compatible and may be used interchangeably with the previous 003250W in existing designs. Unirac’s span charts and design tools will transition to the new screw over the coming months, with many applications benefiting from improved spans.&#8221;</p>

<p>Unirac says all orders for 003250W will now ship with 003251W, while Flashloc® DUO will temporarily continue including two of the original screws during the transition.</p>
