Going “one louder” than many other home energy storage systems (ESS) on the market, Fortress Power has introduced the 16 kWh eBoost battery system (versus the more common 15 kWh capacity).

A single unit can serve as backup power for a residence, while multiple units can scale for light commercial or multi-tenant applications — Fortress Power says 16 units can be connected in parallel, achieving a 256 kWh system in both grid-tied and off-grid residential and commercial applications. Each eBoost unit provides up to 12 kW of continuous charge and discharge power.

Supporting both single-phase and three-phase 208V configurations, the eBoost’s performance specs—16 kWh per unit and 12 kW continuous power output—position it squarely between small-scale batteries and larger C&I systems.

“The eBoost sets a new standard for flexible, high-capacity energy storage,” said Matthew Daniel, Product Manager for eBoost at Fortress Power. “Its scalability, durability, and seamless integration with the Envy Duo 21 inverter make it an ideal choice for installers and customers who demand reliable performance with ease of deployment.”

Each system includes a 10-year warranty and is designed for long-term operation without compromising accessibility or safety.

The 16 kWh eBoost builds on the company’s previous eVault MAX platform but incorporates several practical upgrades.

Larger-capacity cells boost energy density while reducing footprint, and integrated locking wheels make on-site mobility easier.

The system’s IP65-rated enclosure with internal heating elements allows for operation in temperatures ranging from -4°F to 140°F, broadening its usability for both indoor and outdoor projects.

The new eWay Wireway System also organizes cabling for a cleaner, faster installation and better long-term serviceability.

The eBoost was engineered to integrate with Fortress Power’s Envy Duo 21 inverter to eliminate extra steps in commissioning while maintaining full monitoring capabilities through the BMS.

“Since 2016, Fortress Power has been driven by a mission to make our energy storage systems easier to install, more efficient, and more cost-effective,” Daniel said. “The eBoost represents that vision—combining engineering simplicity with the power and resilience our customers expect.”

By integrating eBoost with its inverter ecosystem, Fortress Power is also reinforcing a trend toward tighter system standardization—a move that benefits installers balancing multiple product lines and training requirements.
