<p>Solar manufacturer <a href="https://solx-energy.com/">Solx</a> and perovskite solar technology firm <a href="https://caelux.com/">Caelux</a> have announced a five-year, 3 GW partnership revolving around their “breakthrough” U.S.-made <a href="https://solarbuildermag.com/pv-modules/tandem-pv-opens-next-generation-solar-manufacturing-facility/">high-performance solar modules</a>.</p>
<p>The collaboration will integrate Caelux’s energy-producing glass products into Solx’s Aurora-brand platform, the companies say. The partnership will enable the creation of a solar module with double the number of power generation layers, which could increase efficiency of 28%, delivering “significantly more” power than normal.</p>
<p>“This is a defining moment for American energy manufacturing. U.S.-made hybrid tandem is no longer a theoretical, it’s now in commercialized production,” says James Holmes, co-founder and CEO of Solx. “We’ve integrated Caelux’s leading glass technology into our domestic manufacturing platform, engineered for gigawatt-scale production. This is how the U.S. leads again, by building the energy future at scale.”</p>
<p>The new partnership represents a “critical landmark” for the energy infrastructure of the U.S., the companies say. The agreement will help transition Caelux’s technology from low-volume production to gigawatt-scale deployment.</p>
<p>Additionally, the companies claim the new agreement will help create a stronger supply chain in the American solar market. Matt Card, CEO of solar cell manufacturer <a href="https://suniva.com/">Suniva</a>, says that supply chain strength is “essential” to the country’s wider energy future.</p>
<p>“This partnership demonstrates what’s possible when U.S. manufacturers and technology leaders align,” Card says. “By supplying domestically produced solar cells into Solx’s Aurora platform while also incorporating Caelux’s Active Glass, we are strengthening domestic energy security, creating high-quality American jobs, and enabling the next generation of solar innovation.”</p>

<p>The new partnership will establish a fully U.S.-based solar supply chain for Solx’s manufacturing platform. In addition, the move will support the Aurora module’s large-scale production, which is key as the <a href="https://solarbuildermag.com/featured/data-center-download-how-hyperscalers-are-shaping-the-solar-storage-market/">data center boom</a> takes over the U.S. energy market.</p>
<p>“Leading the market in the commercialization of double power layer modules, this partnership revolutionizes the American energy industry to meet growing energy demand,” says Caelux CEO Scott Graybeal.</p>
<p>The two companies have a plan in place to continue their collaboration, representatives say. The long-term plan will aim to “cement a path forward for American energy technology leadership” through meeting domestic energy demand, domestically.</p>
<p>“Our partnership with Solx is the largest production agreement of its kind for energy producing <a href="https://solarbuildermag.com/pv-modules/tandem-pv-glass-and-quantum-dots-two-u-s-pv-innovations-closer-to-commercialization/">perovskite glass</a> in the Western Hemisphere,” says Aaron Thurlow, SVP of sales for Caelux. “While licensing has occurred in the industry, our agreement is a true production deal with volume and purchase commitments, deploying the technology to the broader market.”</p>
